Social Frames Setup

It takes a lot of repeatable work to add videos manually to Frames’ playlists. More so if you want to show new videos – you have to add them everyday or so. To make this easier, we created Social Frames.  Tell Social Frames where you want to show latest videos from, sit back and watch your visitors enjoying fresh content on you own site.

You can stream videos from YouTube playlists, channel uploads and search terms, Facebook user and Vimeo category, search and user.

You’ll have to create API keys for all these sites. We’ve provided our own YouTube API key to make it easy for you to get started, please create your own after checking the plugin.

Guide to create API credentials:

YouTube:

• Go to console.developers.google.com
• Click on Library from the left sidebar.
• Click on YouTube Data API in the YouTube APIs section.
• Click on Enable in the YouTube Data API page.
• Now go to Credentials page from the left sidebar menu.
• From the dropdown Create credentials that appearns in a small modal, select API Key.
• Then in the next modal, select Browser Key.
• Give the key a name.
• Enter *.yoursitename.com/* in the HTTP Refferers field.
• Click Create.
• A new modal will appear with the API key. Use this in Frames’s Settings > YouTube API key and Social tab > YouTube API key.

Vimeo

• Login to your Vimeo account.
• Go to Developers page.
• Go to My Apps page.
• Click on Create New App.
• Fill all required fields ( app name, description etc ).
• Click on Create App ( Save ).
• In the next page, go to Authentication tab.
• Copy Client Identifier & Client Secrets to Frames ( Social tab ).

Facebook

• Login to your Facebook account.
• Got to Developers page.
• Click on the Register button from top menu. ( If you have already registered as a Facebook Developer, ignore this. )
• Fill some info in next step like Phone no. to get registered.
• Now go to Developers page again.
• From the top menu, click on My Apps, then Add a New App
• Give App name and save it.
• In nex page, click on Settings from left sidebar menu.
• Copy App ID & App Secret to Frames ( Social tab ).
